The Influence of different Types of Fiber-reinforcement on the Behavior of Concrete Slabs
Wünsche, Dominik ; Žítt, Petr (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
The bachelor‘s thesis deals with the issue of concrete, specifically self-compacting concrete, fiber concrete and other types of concrete used. The work consists of two parts, the theoretical one, which will deal with the properties of the concrete. It describes the individual test methods used in the practical part. The test methods are the ultrasonic pulse method, the resonance method, the static modulus of elasticity, the compressive strength, and especially flexural strength. The second part is a practical part, which is processed by an experiment. In the experimental part, it will be mainly about carrying out tests of self-compacting concrete slabs and concrete with the addition of steel fibers. Subsequently, selected characteristics of concrete are determined and the whole experiment is evaluated.
Determination of elasticity modulus for base layers
Hepner, Urban ; Mondschein,, Petr (referee) ; Stehlík, Dušan (advisor)
The thesis deals with the experimental determination of the resilient modulus using cyclic triaxial test with the selected unbound mixtures of the base course of the pavement. The aim is to verify whether the proposed modulus-resilient in the regulation TP 170 based on the statisticaly verified data dating several decades ago is still valid in the present. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the dependence between the measured and the calculated values of the modulus resilient Mr from the cyclic triaxial test and the California Bearing Ratio tests. For the classification of the selected materials, further tests are used in the thesis, such as granularity and compaction tests.
Mechanical properties of fiber reinforced composites for automotive applications
Bayer, Adam ; Žídek, Jan (referee) ; Jančář, Josef (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis deals with studying mechanical features of fiber composites. As a matrix was chosen PMMA and as reinforcement was chosen glass fabric. Theoretical part sums up contemporary issues of polymer composites in automotive industry such as their production techniques and methods of impregnation. In experimental part were prepared samples by block polymerization of 30 % solution PMMA in monomer with initiator by 65° Celsius warmth oath, when was fabric directly unfolded in pre-polymer solution. On these samples were executed tensile tests by testing device Zwick and these samples were compared with results of theoreticaly calculated values.
Tyre Parameters Measurement
Pokorný, Pavel ; Vančura, Jan (referee) ; Blaťák, Ondřej (advisor)
It is the tyre that ensures the interaction between a wheel and road surface and it is the the tyre which also acts as a primary cushioning. Its construction, features and condition highly influence driving properties of a car and thus passenger safety as well. In motorsports the tyre is a key part of the vehicle and therefore it is necessary to make use of its complete potential for reaching the best results. The aim of this thesis is a device construction suitable for tyre parameter and their characteristics measurement. The next task is to design a measuring system for tyre pressure and temperature monitoring. With using of these devices a few real-tyre measurements and subsequent result evaluation will be done. The output of the thesis is an overview of construction details, overview of selected tyre parameters, design and drawing documentation of multipurpose measuring device and the results of my measurements.
Additional reinforcement of wood elements
Janoušek, Radek ; Vejpustek,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of additional reinforcement of wooden elements using different types of BFRP materials. In the practical part, an experiment of reinforcing plywood with external reinforcement using BFRP fabrics with different basis weights was performed. As part of the strength tests performed, the specimens were subjected to bending and shear stresses. To verify the bonding quality of the plywood, the bodies were exposed to the effect of elevated temperature and a delamination test was performed to determine the bonding quality of the plywood joints. The achieved values were evaluated and compared with the available literature.
Comparison of selected parameters of tensile strength of concrete
Rozsypalová, Iva ; Žítt, Petr (referee) ; Daněk, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with a comparison of the selected strength tension properties of the hardened concrete and finding relationships between them. This is essentially a simple tensile strength, tensile flexural strength and tensile splitting strength. The text describe the testing procedures to determine the tensile strength of concrete. Furthermore, there are presented the results of testing on different types of concrete (plain concrete, lightweight concrete, steel-fiber concrete, polymer-fibre concrete and high strength concrete). The conclusion deals with the derivation of dependancy between concrete strengths and comparing the values obtained from the available relations with the results of the tests.
Experimental and computational methods for determination of local values of Young´s modulus in polycrystalline materials
Svoboda, Ondřej ; Zelený, Martin (referee) ; Jan, Vít (advisor)
The bachelor thesis combines computational and experimental methods for determination of local Young's modulus of polycrystalline materials. Quantum-mechanical calculations are used for theoretical determination of anisotropic elastic properties and the results are compared with those from nanoindetation measurements. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to apply these two methods to elemental iron as a pre-step for future research of binary Fe-Al alloys.
Modification of silicate materials for floors
Šlechtický, Luboš ; Ing. Miroslav Šťenko, Ph.D., LB Cemix (referee) ; Šťastník, Stanislav (advisor)
The thesis is devoted to the issue of flooring materials, cement and plaster. In the first part are discussed general properties and general requirements for flooring, as well as presents the most important properties of selected flooring materials. The work is dedicated to the modulus of elasticity, adhesion to the substrate and strength parameters of the tested materials. It also evaluates the effects of redispersible polymer powders in silicate compositions intended for floors.
Optimisation of fibre-matrix interface in ceramic matrix composite
Halasová, Martina ; Černý,, Martin (referee) ; Chlup, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis is concerned to the study of behaviour of fibre composites with ceramics matrix. The composite consists of pyrolysed polysiloxane matrix reinforced by ceramic fibre Nextel 720. Main aim of this work is optimisation of fibre matrix interface through the selection of suitable precursor of the matrix with respect to temperature stability, sufficient strength and reasonable fracture toughness. Samples of matrices were exposed to the long term heat treatment in the range 1100 – 1500 °C. The mechanical properties as hardness and indentation elastic modulus were determined after heat treatment. Selected precursors of matrices were used for composite fabrication. Elastic modulus and fracture toughness at room and elevated temperatures were studied. Discussion is dedicated to the description of changes in mechanical properties with respect to chemical processes taking place during high temperature exposition. Further, reasons of fracture behaviour of composite materials are discussed, and finally, gained knowledge and outlined possibilities of subsequent development are summarised.
The experimental verification of modulus of elasticity of fine grained composites based on silicate binders
Hoduláková, Michaela ; Kucharczyková, Barbara (referee) ; Kocáb, Dalibor (advisor)
Since their inception, building materials are constantly improving. New ways to explore and improve the material's properties are constantly investigated (especially to improve the mechanical and deformation characteristics of the materials). This thesis is focused on identifying and comparing values of the modulus of elasticity of fine-grained composites. These features are compared with respect to water cement ratio, ageing and compressive strength of the investigated materials. Afterwards, the values of the modulus of elasticity are studied in the relation to the tested materials.
